perhaps the most profound moment of my life occurred when i was sat in a car with my dad.

we were travelling home and having a very jw conversation on the paradise, at least, it was until my dad slipped in one of those rare moments of honesty in the watchtower world:.

that moment really hit me hard.

your story made me feel sad that the identity of such honest words need to be hidden in secrecy. But that is what this site is about, so many different stories, some more heartbreaking than others by most hidding our identity. That is the thing that bugs me that this organisation makes people woth really noble charactors hide their identity.

I feel like writting my name is Mike ...... from .......... congregation. But if i were to do that i think i would have a cold winter.

So with my curtains drawn let me say much of our story is similar Lalika, we both turned down " the privalige" of M.S status as we no longer belived.And that event opend my eyes wide. I think i also had a charactor like your dad,and occasionaily let slip my true feelings only to wake in the morning and forget i thought that way.

Anycase what is important is we realized it was all fake and left. So why make future episodes of our life bad by hurting friendships and family when we can walk away with those relationships still in tact.

In fact secrecy made the opportunity of escape for me possible. And as for how i am now it was the best thing i ever did.

Yea maybe someday all that will remain of this board are the important topics, left as a reminder so that people wont be fooled again. But it would be nice if a time came when we are not using our energies to devide in useless debate. Sometimes i think we are arguing who owns the fire extinguisher while the flames rage and there is nothing we can do about.

the owner of the company that i work for was talking to me today about his brother who chose a different line of business and makes more money than him.

he seems to be upset about his choice of work.

but when when i look around this guys yard he has done very well for himself but apparantly not as well as his brother.

What i have learnt about religion is that it would be wrong of me to spend my life convincing people their faith is wrong. In a away i think however ad long as the opportunity to debate in a healty positive way i will offer my opinion. But i am always open to the thinking my viewpoint is wrong. In fact i think anger has nothing to do with learning about science and life. Thats my conclusion on Athiests and anger.

Terry having had the opportunity to reviwew your links in greater depth, i conclude that Oswald acted alone. However that he was able to assasinate Kennedy is far harder to comprehend than Lincolns assasination. It would be easy to dismiss it as " the circumstances were the circumstances. But i feel that this would be doing an injustice to what happened.

I therefore ask myself was it destiny, fate, written in the stars. I accept that this thinking will open me up to laughter., that it seems very far fetched. But that Oswald was able to assasinate the president that day seems equally so far fetched. And yet it happened. The improbable events that were beyound Oswalds control played out just right. Or maybe our life is just an improbable event that can be taken away by an improbable event at anytime.

i think it's wonderful that be all posses creative power of thought, and i think this form of creative manifestation comes most commonley in the form of arts.so many posters have mentiond they are writing a book, but i bet some of you create music or make a wonderful soup.. i ask this because i was reading my old school reports and my art teacher wrote " michael is the post constructive, imaginative pupil i have ever had.

his enthusiasm wonders a bit but on the whole an excellent pupil" ....sadly i think if that statement was true i have rather let my self down with my artistic expression.

still it's never to late and i intend to involve myself in my art again this summer..

OK board members i appreciate your modesty prevented you answering the above post. But isn't it wonderful that so many " ordinary" people can do " amazing" things? So often it's all about a state of mind. It is so inspirational seeing people cope with adversity and disability. It often gives me a more realistic perspective on my own over inflated problems. For example i saw a lady driver get out her car, and i noticed she had the tiniest arms and legs. I thought it wonderful she had not allowed this disadvantage to prevent her from driving.

Scully thats a great point. I have had people say to me " Not all belivers act like that. I dont act like that"

and i reply

" Yet your church belives in hell, dam nation and that gay people are evil are you ok with that?"

Sadly they are ok with that. And i feel if i can' t let this go. And if i didn't speak out and stand my ground i would be angry with myself. I guess it's my burden of having escaped the watchtower, religiouse hypocracy now angers me.
